新填充的色譜柱不能馬上使用還需要進行老化處理。老化的目的有兩個，一是為了除去填充物中的殘余溶劑，和某些揮發(fā)性雜質(zhì)，另一個目的是促進固定液均勻的、牢固分布在單體的表面上。

新填充的色譜柱老化的方法：----把柱子與汽化室連接，與檢測器一端要斷開，以氮氣為載氣，流速是正常的一半即可，溫度選擇固定液的使用溫度，老化時間大約20小時，老化完成后將儀器溫度降至近室溫關(guān)閉色譜儀，待儀器溫度恢復室溫再將色譜柱連接到檢測器上（老化時接汽化室的一端接在檢測器上），開機，在使用溫度下看基線是否平穩(wěn)，如果平穩(wěn)色譜柱就算老化好了，否則要繼續(xù)老化。
